Hello Everyone,
I hope you are having a good week and staying hydrated with this newfound heat. I am loving it. In Burlington today a thunderstorm came in with heavy rain. No gardening today!
I want to remind you that our special service of Remembrance and Hope is this Sunday and encourage you to attend. As in past years, we will be remembering and honouring members of our families and friends and pioneers who have passed from this world by planting flowers at the grave sites of those who are buried in our cemetery. We have many pioneers interred who have helped settle the Town of Oakville and we always honour and revere them with our prayers and our plantings of flowers. We make sure that they are always remembered as they are the cornerstone of Knox Presbyterian Church 16.
Following service, we will proceed to the cemetery and plant flowers in the sites that have been prepared. We will then return to the church for lunch and fellowship.
The Hospitality Committee will be in the kitchen ensuring lunch is ready for your return. If you wish, please feel free to bring food to share.
To ensure we have everything we need to welcome everyone back inside, please let me know if you plan to join us for lunch.
Also, reminding you to bring a small spade to use for the planting. If the sun is shining, it is always a good idea to bring items such as a hat and sunscreen.
See you on Sunday.
With Blessings,
Benda
